From #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover, a new novel about risking everything for love—and finding your heart somewhere between the truth and lies.

Auburn Reed has her entire life mapped out. Her goals are in sight and there’s no room for mistakes. But when she walks into a Dallas art studio in search of a job, she doesn’t expect to find a deep attraction to the enigmatic artist who works there, Owen Gentry.

For once, Auburn takes a risk and puts her heart in control, only to discover Owen is keeping major secrets from coming out. The magnitude of his past threatens to destroy everything important to Auburn, and the only way to get her life back on track is to cut Owen out of it.

The last thing Owen wants is to lose Auburn, but he can’t seem to convince her that truth is sometimes as subjective as art. All he would have to do to save their relationship is confess. But in this case, the confession could be much more destructive than the actual sin…

Dammit Colleen, you always give me so many feels. The first and last chapters of the book are definitely the most feels inducing, and it's just ridiculous how she can make you feel so much for characters you've known for less than five pages.

Seriously, the "villains" in this book were actually some of the worst I have encountered in a contemporary romance. I'm not going to go too much into that because it's absolute spoiler territory, but my god, one of the characters would just completely fill me with rage every time she appeared. I also feel like one character in particular was on the cliched side of villainy- he just seemed almost psychotic, and while I suppose there probably are people like that in real life, it felt like a bit much in the context of this book. Still, the book was definitely much more tension filled due to encounters with this character. And actually to be honest, even Owen at times seemed dodgy...and that's all I'll say about that because you should just read the book.

And of course, I can't review a Colleen Hoover book without commenting on the banter. HOW IS SHE SO GOOD AT BANTER. It's actually hilarious, to the point that you laugh out loud (this is kind of rare for me). There was the obligatory banter between Auburn and Owen (I SHIP IT), but there was also banter with another character, Auburn's roommate, which was pretty hilarious.

The cool thing about this book was that there was actually insets of the art that the characters talk about, and so you're actually able to see things for yourself. They're included as you're reading in black and white, and there are colour versions of each towards the end of the book too.

Well, overall, Confess was yet another fantastic book from Colleen Hoover. Honestly, I will read anything that woman writes.
